Senior goodbye: Shawnn Smith

Dear Parents,

The day has finally come. Your youngest son is off to college. We have all learned so much from this and I can’t thank you enough. This journey has had many ups and downs but I wouldn’t be the person I am today without them. Thank you guys for everything you do!

To my loving Mom, I would like to thank you for molding me into the man I am today. I cherish the motivating words and speeches you give my siblings and me. You show me how to be an amazing person, which I express to my peers. Also, I would like to thank you for allowing me to go to great schools such as Archbishop Carroll and Bishop McDevitt. These schools taught me so much about life. Thanks to you Mom, for allowing me to better my future by attending these schools. A great memory I have with you at Carroll is seeing your smile at the speech I gave for my banquet. You give me the determination and power to succeed and for all of that. Thank you, and love you!

To my passionate Dad, I did it. I graduated and I got into an excellent school for basketball! You’re the reason why I always have a chip on my shoulder. The drive and motivation you teach me are priceless lessons that I use in school, work, and basketball. You’re a big reason why I’m going to walk across that stage. A great memory I have with you at Carroll is when I got my first dunk and seeing you jump out of your seat. Thank you for everything you do for me and I will always be grateful. Love you!

Leaving Archbishop John Carroll is going to be an easy transition because of the great parents I have. The life lessons, endless talks, loving personality, and much more are the reasons I will strive after high school. Enough being said. Thank you for everything, guys. Love you!
