The Archbishop Carroll administration has decided to prohibit spectators from basketball games because of the fear of spreading the coronavirus. The announcement was made today in an email, reprinted below:
February 1, 2021
Dear Carroll Community,
Out of an abundance of caution to protect our students, school, and community at large, we have decided to temporarily not allow spectators at our home basketball games. This was not an easy decision, but we believe it is necessary in our efforts to keep our student-athletes safe and mitigate risks as we continue to take the court in girls’ and boys’ basketball. We will provide a streaming service for all home games and will send out live-stream links for PCL road contests as they become available. We will closely monitor the situation, and our hope is to allow spectators once we fully understand how to navigate our new norm.
In advance, thank you for your patience and understanding. You can expect updates from the athletic department regarding changes to this decision.
