I would like to say thank you to ACTS for giving me experiences I couldn’t have had otherwise.

I remember my first show like it was yesterday. My first show was “Bye Bye Birdie” and it will have a special place in my heart for a long time. It was fun because I got to play as a parent to a senior who was in the cast, so that technically means I got to tell someone who’s older than me what to do. The upperclassmen in the club at the time were so nice and welcoming and it was the reason why I stayed with the club.

The fall show when I was a sophomore was “Godspell.” I say it was an alright show in which I was playing a good Samaritan. It was really stressful to practice because everyone in the club was in it, but we felt like we were closer than ever.

The spring show was “Fiddler on the Roof” and I say it was the first show I was heavily involved in. The show proved that I can dance at least, without me knowing that I could.

The next show I’ve done was my favorite of all time in the club: “White Christmas.” I got to play five roles in the show. My favorite part was me in a glamorous suit and tie, introducing the leading men in the show. That’s an ACTS memory that I’ll hold on to for the rest of my life.

Then, before I knew it, quarantine stopped everything and I was bummed out. When we got back, we started to do my last show: “Little Shop of Horrors.” I thought the show was OK. It was really stressful to practice, but performing it in front of people for the first time was the best feeling.

Thanks to ACTS, I’m going to be majoring in theater at Temple University. It’s hard for me to accept leaving the club because I’m not sure if I’ll ever meet a talented group of people like them. It’s harder for me to say goodbye to Carroll because I’ve met so many great friends and teachers who have given me the best high school experience.
