Peter Mihaly
Class of 2021 senior goodbye
June 10, 2021
My time at Carroll has felt pretty short. I didn’t believe it at first when people told me that high school goes by fast.
This was the only year that felt much longer than the others. The beginning of COVID was hard for me to get used to due to all the changes that have occurred. I would also be lying if I said I didn’t like being virtual in school. It was a nice change being able to stay home and get more rest than usual, but after a while, it got kind of tiring. It ended up being worse overall because we missed out on a lot of fun events such as homecoming, snowball, sports events, etc. It made me value my time being in school more.
One of my favorite memories at Carroll has been at THON. I got to perform with my band for the first two years and those performances were the most fun I’ve had playing music. The music doesn’t stop there for me, though. I have participated in many music ensembles such as Jazz, Pit, and normal Band. I have had a lot of fun playing with my peers and being able to grow my talents with them.
I would like to thank Mr. Larimer and Mr. Darrohn for being amazing teachers to me and helping me become a better person, as well as a better musician. They helped me so many in ways I couldn’t describe and I will cherish lessons and experiences they have given to me.
I would also like to thank all of the teachers at Carroll who have helped me grow academically and for being so kind and helpful. Every single one of my teachers and the community overall at Carroll have been so amazing that I don’t think I could have experienced that anywhere else. The sports Carroll has has allowed me to excel as an athlete in multiple sports such as crew, tennis, and Ultimate Frisbee. The coaches were so amazing and they pushed my limits so I could become stronger.
My years at Carroll have been some of the best years of my life and I wouldn’t trade those memories for anything else. I have become a better person and I can now move on and have a good future because of all the experiences Carroll has given me. Thank you so much.
