Class of 2021 senior goodbye

Courtney+Keith

During my time at Carroll I have had many experiences and opportunities that have helped me to get where I am today.

The best thing about Carroll is the camaraderie throughout the school and sports teams. Being on the field hockey team gave me the chance to make amazing friends who I see and talk to every day at school. Everyone gets along on the team. No matter whether you are a freshman or senior, everyone’s included.

Coming to Carroll as a freshman was scary because I didn’t really know many people who were going to the same school as I. When I got to Carroll I felt welcomed and included in everything. The field hockey team helped me especially to make friends during preseason, before school even started. Each year of being on the team I felt as though we were a family. My teammates and coaches helped me to come out of my shell and overall be a better player.

When I got injured my junior year I was devastated that I couldn’t play that season with my team, but as the season went on I went to as many practices and games as I could. Even though I was injured, my teammates and coaches still made me feel like I was on the team. When I came back this year for my senior season, I was so excited and was welcomed with open arms. At first I was nervous because I didn’t know how I would play, but after our first practices, I fell into my old routine. We had an amazing season and ended up making it to the state championship. When that final goal went in I felt as though I had let my team and coaches down, but as I walked over to the sideline everyone came over to me to tell me how great I played and that I shouldn’t be upset that we lost because we had a great season. This team and Carroll have taught me that even in the hardest of times, someone will always be there.

I want to thank everyone who helped me throughout my four years at Carroll including my team, my coaches, and my teachers.

I also want to thank my parents because they have done so much for me and I would not be where I am without them.
