Class of 2021 senior goodbye

These past four years at Carroll have been absolutely wonderful and I will always be grateful for my experiences here. I have had so many amazing experiences and memories I will cherish forever. These years have helped shape me into the person I am today.

I am so lucky to have had the teachers I had at Carroll. Even on days when I was annoyed about homework or tests, I still always loved being in their classrooms. They always helped me better understand a subject and explain ideas that I couldn’t grasp. The teacher that has had the biggest impact on my life has to be Mr. Larimer or Mr. Scanlan. I had Mr. Larimer as a teacher all four years and he really helped me grow as a musician. I knew absolutely nothing about music when I came to Carroll, but Mr. Larimer as well as other students helped me learn and have the skill that I have today. I’m not saying I’m the greatest musician in the world, but going from someone who didn’t know how to read music or even where to place my fingers, to someone who can keep up really well with concert music and becoming more confident in playing loudly has had a huge impact on my life. I only had Mr. Scanlan for two years, but I had him for three different classes. I don’t know if he remembers but the first time I met him was when I shadowed here in eighth grade. He has always been a fun teacher who helps me better understand topics involving Human Geography or US history. Even if he does tell the same jokes every class period, they always brighten my day.

My friends have also had a major impact in my life. They always made me laugh and made my day brighter or comforted me when I was down. They have always been there for me and I hope that I have always been there for them too. I love the classes we have together because even if we do not talk, they just make the class more fun. We have a lot of the same interests so it makes it very easy to talk and joke around with them.

Carroll is an absolutely wonderful school and I am forever grateful that I got to spend my high school years here with my amazing friends and wonderful teachers.
