Class of 2021 senior goodbye

One of my greatest memories from the past 4 years at Carroll has been ACTS. ACTS is the theater program at Carroll and it is something I have been heavily involved in for the past 4 years. I have made the most amazing memories in ACTS and have met the greatest people.

I started ACTS my freshman year with the show “Once on This Island.” This show was the one that made me fall in love with theater and ACTS. I was only an ensemble member, but I had learned so much and knew right away that this was something I wanted to keep doing. After “Once on This Island,” I continued to audition for each show after. From that point on, I was in “Bye Bye Birdie,” “Godspell,” “A Midsummer Night ‘s Dream,” “Fiddler on the Roof,”  “White Christmas,”  “Once Upon A Mattress,” The Fall Festival, and my final show, “Little Shop of Horrors.”

My first lead role was in ” A Midsummer Night’s Dream” where I played Egeus. I did not receive another role until “White Christmas,” where I played Betty Hanes. This was my first show as the main female lead and it was the most amazing experience!

My favorite role in ACTS was by far Audrey in Little Shop of Horrors. It was a role that was very far out of my comfort zone, but I was able to branch out and make it my own. I learned so much from playing Audrey and I am so grateful to have had that opportunity.

Although I am sad to leave ACTS after I graduate, I am so thankful for all the amazing memories I made and the great people I have met. This program has helped me to grow in ways I never thought I could and it is something that I will remember forever. I am so excited to come back and watch the shows from the audience and see how much this program continues to grow and thrive.
