Shawn Tammany

Class of 2021 senior goodbye

Shawn+Tammany

The past four years at Carroll have been some of the best years of my life, and I don’t think I’ll ever be able to replicate that experience. During my time at Carroll I have met some of my closest friends who I will continue to keep in touch with. I’ve also been able to learn a ton of valuable lessons that have made me who I am today. There have been many good times at Carroll, but there have also been many hard times too. No matter what though, I continued to persevere and push through. Even though there was a global pandemic, not only did I persevere but so did my fellow classmates. Not only did it make us stronger, but it made us appreciate the experiences we had shared together.

While attending Carroll, I met many friends that helped and supported me through my four years of high school. No matter how stressed I was, they would always find a way to cheer me up. They would help me with homework and they would even buy me lunch on occasions. My experiences with them changed me and shaped me into the person I am today, and no matter what I will always remember my experiences with them for the rest of my life.

During my time at Carroll, I would come across obstacles that I had to overcome, many of them because of my own doing. I was only able to truly navigate through the obstacles through the guidance of my teachers, particularly a teacher named Mr. Fryberger. No matter what had happened or what I did, he was always there in my corner to help me through it. If I had difficulties understanding something or an issue with an assignment, he was always there to help me through it. He wouldn’t fight my battles for me, but he would always help guide me on what I needed to do. He taught me things that no other teacher or person in the world could teach me. He truly is the only reason that I will graduate.
