Senior goodbye: Sidney Graham

Sidney Graham

Dear little brother,

Since day one of senior year I have been counting down the days until the next chapter of my life begins. The day is rapidly approaching and I’m sort of getting nervous now. Worried, if I’m being real. I don’t have any regrets about the choices I have made but I encourage you to be better than me. I want you to branch out and get involved here because I believe I would have enjoyed high school more than I did. Even though you have a wide range of friends now, I want you to continue to diversify your friend group. Remember it is not about the quantity of friends you have but the quality of the friendship between you and them.

Leaving for college is going to be bittersweet. Although I will be 7 hours away from home, I will always be here for you in your times of need. Don’t ever hesitate to call me to complain about anything such as complaining about teachers, assignments, and any dating drama you experience. You are truly my built-in best friend and I want to be there for you in any way possible. It is going to be challenging being away from you, but I have faith that you will excel at Carroll.

Thank you for being an amazing friend and brother. Over the years, our bond has grown tremendously. You are a unique individual with such a pure heart. I am grateful for your loving personality, even though you can be very nonchalant at times. Thank you for putting up with my dramatic tendencies and being someone for me to turn to when I need a good laugh. I appreciate your sarcasm even though it can be irritating at times. I know it’s going to be hard to be alone with our parents but trust me you’ll make it perfectly fine. Just like everyone else they have their good times too.

I am looking forward to seeing the young man you grow into and all the amazing things you will accomplish in your future. I wish you the best of luck as you finish out high school and discover your purpose in life and in the world. I have watched you grow up, and I never had a doubt in my mind you would do great things. There is so much I could say to you, and so much I could tell you, but I want you to experience and figure out a few things on your own. I love you more than you know and don’t replace me with a new TikTok partner too soon!

Your Favorite Sister,

Sidney Graham
