Archbishop Carroll girls basketball team wins state championship

Carroll’s girls basketball team celebrates winning the PIAA 6A championship Friday night.

The Archbishop Carroll girls basketball team became state champs Friday night, defeating the undefeated Cedar Cliff 43-37 at the Giant Center in Hershey.

Cedar Cliff, from central Pennsylvania, went into the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Associate 6A championship with a 30-0 record. Before the playoffs, Carroll had 10 wins and 12 losses. During the playoffs, Carroll beat Neshaminy, Perkiomen Valley, Abington, and Cardinal O’Hara to reach the championship.
