Senior goodbye: James Carrozza
June 8, 2023
Dear Archbishop Carroll School,
I wanted to say thank you for giving me a good four years of learning at Archbishop Carroll. My years at Carroll haven’t been a fully normal high school experience because of the COVID and hybrid class years. Although there have been many ups and downs at Carroll, I don’t think I could’ve chosen a better high school. When I think back on my struggles, I remember feeling like I wasn’t going to do good or not graduate. I felt that way every year as I was so nervous from being in new classes with different teachers and some classmates being people who I don’t know. From the help and encouragement from the teachers, my parents, and friends, I was able to get my work done close to graduation.
I also wanted to say thank you for helping me find friends here at school. When I first came to Carroll, I was insecure and shy and wasn’t into the making friends feeling as a freshman, but over the years I have found friendships with my classmates that I never thought I would be friends with. I always thought I wouldn’t make any friends and I would be alone when I first entered Carroll. However, despite the many problems these four years had, I was able to make friends and I hope to still be friends with them after graduation. I grew close with many people and I may lose contact with them one day but at least I’ll remember them.
The last thing I am thankful for from Archbishop Carroll is giving me great memories for all four years of high school. When I am older and think back to my days as a high school student, my favorite memory will always be the first to come to mind. One of my favorite memories was making masks in Mrs. Carpenter’s Honors Art class, as I got to expand my artistic skills to create an item and use tools that I never used before. That memory is something I’ll never forget, as I got to do more than just drawing, coloring, or painting as I do at home.
Sincerely,
James Carrozza
