Senior goodbye: Daniel Morgans
June 13, 2023
Dear Archbishop Carroll,
Thank you for all that you have done for me over these past four years. I have made many memories and friends that I will cherish for the rest of my life. I am blessed that I ended up choosing Carroll over O’Hara or Penncrest. I couldn’t imagine going to a different school. Every day I walk into school tired, but I cheer up when I see all my friends together and laugh. Now that my time at Carroll is coming to an end, I am definitely sad. Reality is setting in and I am realizing that I will not be able to see some of the friends I made for a long time. We will all go our separate ways and grow apart from each other but the memories will still remain. All of the amazing sporting events that really made Carroll what is was will definitely be missed.
I hope everyone at Carroll could have the type of experience that I have had. Everyone tells you that time flies by but you don’t get to experience that feeling until it happens to you. You will wake up as a senior one day and think, “What happened?” Nobody likes growing up but we all have to eventually. Don’t take every day you walk into this school for granted. You are blessed to go to a school with such an amazing community. Try to appreciate this time while you have it. It felt like yesterday when I woke up at 6:30 for the first time to catch the bus for the first day of school freshman year. It is almost unbelievable that time has really gone this fast. Every year you will change and grow as a person.
As a senior now I highly recommend you go to Kairos. I wasn’t planning on going because I thought it would be dumb, but I had a change of heart. My friends convinced me to go with them and I am so glad that I did. It really put my life into a different perspective and I guarantee it will impact yours. It was loads of fun and very heartwarming.
Your time at Carroll will be over before you know it so make every day count. Archbishop Carroll, thank you for everything you have done for me. I truly am blessed.
