Senior goodbye: Daniela Flores

Dear Carroll,

First and foremost, I want to thank you for allowing me to expand my education more than any public school ever could and for giving me chances to be a leader and start new projects, Thank you for letting me fail so I could try again, and teaching me how to become a better person.

Growing up, my family instilled in me the importance of education and hard work, They always taught me to do my best. Despite the lack of their education here in the United States, they encouraged me to pursue my dreams by sending me to Archbishop Carroll.

When I started Carroll as a freshman, I was overwhelmed by the intense school work and the challenges that came with being a first generation American student. The teachers and administrators were always there to support me. My teachers all went above and beyond to make sure I would be able to succeed and have plenty of resources to help me accomplish my goals.

Through my friends and teacher’s guidance, I was able to excel academically and become involved in many extracurricular activities. That allowed me to develop leadership skills and start the Environmental and Gardening Club. Through that we were able to fund and fix the courtyard, adding new lights, a new birdbath, and flowers and bushes to help create a new and beautiful environment for the future Carroll students.

As we all prepare to graduate and start the next chapter of our lives, I am filled with gratitude and the experiences that Archbishop Carroll has provided me. I am grateful for the support of the faculty, friends, and my family who have always been there by my side.
