Senior goodbye: Abigail Martinez
June 13, 2023
Dear Mom,
I would like to thank you for giving me every tool and a chance to become who I am today. I am so grateful that you sent me to Archbishop Carroll. I have learned so much here throughout my four years. Thank you for helping me and supporting me during my hardest times. I know I haven’t been the easiest child to raise but I’m so thankful that you’ve stuck by my side as I’ve grown.
These four years have brought me so much. I’ve made true friends and learned skills that I will be carrying all my life. I was terrified of beginning high school, and then the pandemic took a good part of my high school experience, but I still have amazing memories from this place.
I wouldn’t be where I am today without you. I am happy to say that I’ve gotten so much from this school and have you to give me guidance. By having you next to me when I wanted to give up, you gave me strength when I thought I had nothing else left to give. I have you as an amazing role model of what determination and hard work are the product of. I am eternally grateful for having you as my mother, showing me the ups and downs of life, and giving me everything I could ever need.
I can’t wait to start this next chapter of my life. I am of course scared to go off to college but I am excited to show my skills and what I’ve learned from you and the school. This year has been surreal in so many ways and I can say with absolute certainty this year has been one of the best. I have gained so much this year, and, even though some things didn’t go as planned, I’m still so happy with the way this year is ending.
Finally, I would like to say I love you and thank you for shaping me into the person I am today. I am so happy with how my senior year has gone, I am extremely thankful for everyone who has helped along the way. I can’t thank you enough for everything. I’m sad to say good-bye to everyone I’ve been around but I’m ready to prove myself and become a successful person.
Thank you, Mom, for letting me be me and guiding me down this path.
