Senior goodbye: Caitlin McConaghy

Dear parents, teachers, and Carroll friends,

I cannot thank you enough for the everlasting memories I have made at Archbishop Carroll. These past four years have truly been a rollercoaster and I have been lucky enough to be on for the ride.

Firstly, I want to thank my parents for giving me the opportunity to choose my next step after graduating from middle school. When I first visited Carroll, I knew it was the place for me to be. I am so ecstatic that I chose to enroll at Carroll and continue some of the lifelong friendships I had at grade school and create many new ones. In addition to this, I value the support and encouragement from both my parents, who are always pushing me to strive to do my best. Without this kind of support, I would not have the motivation I did to set such high expectations and goals as I did over these past four years.

Secondly, I want to thank my teachers for giving me the guidance and support in every class I have encountered in high school. You guys have never failed to challenge and push me to work harder. The endless memories we have made in classes are remarkable, even those in the not-so-fun classes. I just want you to know how thankful I am for you being there for me whenever I needed it.

Lastly, I want to thank my friends for coming to Carroll and making the unforgettable experiences possible. Having these amazing people in my life made coming to school all the easier. In addition to this, playing field hockey and lacrosse all four years allowed me to make friendships on and off the field. Even through hardship and a major setback such as COVID, we have been able to persevere and maintain these long-lasting friendships. Although COVID may have drifted us all apart our freshman and sophomore years, I believe our friendships have grown even stronger our junior and especially senior years.

In conclusion, this letter does not express the amount of gratitude I have for every single one of you. I hope you all realize how you have impacted my life in ways I can’t even begin to explain. Thank you!
