Senior goodbye: Megan McCoy

Dear Archbishop Carroll,

Thank you for everything. This school has made a big impact on my life. From freshman year to now, a lot has changed. I came into this school so excited and nervous at the same time. Freshman year I met all of my friends who I am still friends with today. We instantly had a big friend group and hung out most weekends. Towards the end of freshman year, everything went upside down. Hearing that we had two weeks off was so exciting until we realized what those two weeks turned into. COVID really split our grade apart and even going into sophomore year, everything was so different. Junior year is when all of our friend groups came back together to one big group. This is when everything switched back to the normal Carroll.

I have so many fun memories with my friends at this school. My overall favorite memories were junior and senior prom. These nights were filled with all the best vibes. Both proms were such a good time, yet I would have to say junior prom might have the number one spot. Getting together for pre-pictures and then all heading to the prom together was so exciting. We were dancing all night with no care in the world. It definitely set the perfect mood for senior year.

In my four years at Carroll I learned a lot. My advice to the underclassmen is to branch out from the start of freshman year. I did not branch out until junior year and I could tell that it made my time here more enjoyable. Not caring what anyone thinks is also a good piece of advice. Do your own thing and do not stress about other people’s opinions. You will find your real friends that way and keep them for all your years to come. Another piece of advice is to not put off college applications. Start your senior year by using the Common App as much as you can. Make college applications and decisions your first priority of senior year.

All in all, I just want to thank Carroll for the best four years of my life. I am so thankful for all the friends I made here and I cannot wait to see them succeed.
