Senior goodbye: Kyle Conlen

Dear underclassmen,

As you either start or are most of the way through your high school journey, it’s important to remember that the next few years are not just about getting good grades and getting into college. You need to enjoy the time now while you have it, because sooner than you know it will be over. While in high school, discover new passions and spend time with your friends.

I highly recommend getting involved in Carroll by joining different clubs and sports teams. This is an easy way to meet new people and make friends. Getting involved gives you dedicated time to do fun activities with a group of people. No matter the size of the group, it gives you a place to express yourself with others who enjoy the same things.

Another important tip to flourish in high school is to manage your time wisely. High school can get overwhelming fast with all the classes, homework, and extracurricular activities. It’s essential to manage your time wisely in order to stay on top of all of it. It is best to prioritize your tasks and even use a planner to stay organized. If you can see all the work you have in front of you in one place, it makes it easier to decide the most important work.

While it takes more dedication and time, it is worth it in the long run to challenge yourself by taking courses that are challenging to you. You are at school five days out of the week, so why not gain something out of it? Test yourself with advanced classes that push you outside of your comfort zone. Not only will you learn more, but when you graduate, you will be grateful for the education you have been given.

Finally, remember that high school is just one chapter of your life. However, it is crucial for the rest of it. Work hard, be kind to yourself and others, and embrace new experiences.

Best of luck,

Kyle Conlen
