The Archbishop Carroll’s girls indoor track team set some new personal records during the second meet of the season, held Friday at Lehigh University in Bethlehem.
Team captain Faith Siorek sounded pleased with the results.
“Everyone did an amazing job,” said Siorek. “I am very proud of everyone. We are just getting started.”
Siorek ran the mile, placing 40th with a time of 6 minutes and 32 seconds.
Among those setting new personal records were Katherine Sincavage and Samantha Kernag.
Sincavage placed 30th out of 74 runners in the 60m sprint and earned herself a new PR of 8.86 seconds.
“I was very proud of myself for getting a PR,” said Sincavage.
Kernag ran the 400m sprint and placed 60th with a new PR time of 1 minute 23 seconds.
Ayla Alexander placed 54th out of 73 runners in the 200m sprint with a time of 31.50 seconds.
Grace O’Grady ran the 800m placing 28th out of 60 runners, with a time of 2 minutes and 47 seconds.
The 4x200m team was made up of Sincavage, Ceceilia Weller, Arianna Netzel and Alexander. The team ran a combined time of 2 minutes and 3 seconds.
Olivia Gosseaux competed in the long jump for the first time this season, jumping a distance of 12 feet 11 inches and placing 28th.
Carroll supporters were happy with the team’s performances.
“I was very proud of all the girls,” said Carroll supporter Maura McMahon. “They all tried their best.”
