May 6 marked the start of the testing week for students who take Advanced Placement (AP) courses.
Beginning May 6, those enrolled in AP classes have gone to Room 409 for a few hours each day to take the standardized test designed for each course. Students who score a three or above on a five-point scale are eligible for college credit.
After the exam is over, students have permission to leave school for the remainder of the day.
“Before the Government exam, I felt very excited but also very nervous that it was going to take something that would affect my college future,” AP Government student Brandon Rivera said. “After taking the test, I felt a little bit anxious but happy that it was over.”
Some students had more self-confidence.
“Before the exam I felt pretty good and I felt even more confident after,” said AP Government student James Gessig.
The second week of AP testing arrives this week.
