Dear Carroll,
As a senior here at Archbishop John Carroll, I have had the pleasure of creating many memories, friendships, and participating in many opportunities. During my freshman year, I was terrified to transfer from middle school to high school. However, when I actually started attending here, I felt very welcomed and I instantly made a lot of friends. As time went on, I was able to create a lot of amazing memories. One of my favorite memories within Carroll was when Chloe Meyers fell while bowling during a game against Bonner Prendie. Riley Schwarz and I yelled, “Clean up on Aisle 15,” which made the memory unforgettable.
Even though many of my friendships just casually happened throughout my high school career, many of them were created through sports. Sports have given me so many amazing opportunities and memories. Sports have shown me what leadership is and what it truly means to be one. As a student athlete, I have participated in many sports. I have participated in soccer, softball, and bowling. These sports have given me many opportunities, which I excelled in. I was able to go to states four times and I was First Team All Catholic three times. However, I honestly wouldn’t have made it without my friends and coaches by my side.
Archbishop John Carroll has done a lot for me over the course of the four years that I have attended here. Just a few examples of the grateful experiences I have encountered are when the guidance counselors helped me with applying to colleges, the teachers were always willing to stay after school if you needed help, and students who are always there to support; Carroll will always make you feel welcomed, and loved. Sadly, as my time here at Carroll is slowly coming to an end, with only one week left before graduation, I just wanted to say, “Goodbye, Carroll, and goodbye, Class of 2024. I will graciously miss you.”
Sincerely,
Allison Armstrong
