Dear Carroll friends,
Thank you for welcoming me into your home you call Archbishop Carroll. I may have only attended Carroll for two years, but it feels like I’ve been here since freshman year. The 2024 graduation class is like my second family. I will miss how friendly everyone is in the halls, how no matter who you are sitting with it is easy to start a conversation and have a great time each class period, and all the drama tied into senior year. The people I’ve met these past two years are some of the greatest human beings I’ve met so far in my life. I’m not only talking about all the friends I’ve met along the way at Carroll but also the faculty. Through all the ups and downs my teachers have always been there to help and support me with whatever I’m dealing with. They always understand how hard high school is because they have been through high school once before, too. Not only am I going to miss all these great people but the memories also.
Being on Kairos was one of the best experiences I have ever had. Kairos is where I was able to get to know my classmates even better than I already knew them. This helped me grow closer to everyone and grow closer to God. The retreat helped me not only better my school life but also things outside of school. Going back as a leader is even better than being there as a retreatant. I still wish I was able to go there again for the first time. I hope that all the juniors who are going to be seniors next year can have the same experience as me on Kairos.
Advice for the juniors is to always keep your grades up at the start of the year even though you’re not going to want to since you know you’re a senior because, at the end of the year, you’re not going to want to do any school work. A big thing to do is to always have fun and not stress out. Leave that for college.
