Dear underclassmen,
As I prepare to graduate, I have reflected on my time here at Carroll. In just a few days, I will step into the next chapter of my life. As you navigate your exciting remaining years at Carroll, I want to share something deeply important: time is precious, and each moment is a gift. This time of our lives is bright and complicated, but it is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for self-discovery and growth. Here is some advice I wish I had.
Every day is a new opportunity to learn, grow, and succeed. While this is overwhelming, it is liberating. View school not as an obligation but as a chance to find your passions. The knowledge you learn today will be your tools for the future. It’s easy to get caught up in pressure expectations, but remember, you grow through what you go through. Take a step back and take a deep breath to appreciate your journey. Set intentions and goals, and pursue them with dedication. But also, allow yourself to explore, make mistakes, and change your mind.
One of the most valuable gifts you can give yourself is your presence. In a world that’s always in a rush, it’s easy to lose sight of what’s right in front of you. Put your phone down and notice the beauty of the ordinary. High school can be demanding, but it’s crucial to find a balance. Sleep enough, nourish your body, and make time for activities that make you happy. Don’t be scared to ask for help; it’s a sign of strength. Support one another, celebrate achievements, and help someone out. In the end, high school is just one chapter of life, but it’s a chapter filled with potential. It’s a time to dream big, push boundaries, and find who you are meant to become. Remember, every ending leads to a new beginning. Embrace this gift with open arms and an open heart. Be yourself!
Sincerely,
Gabriella Breault
