Dear Archbishop Carroll,
Even though Archbishop Carroll was not my first choice of high schools, I grew to enjoy my time here. I will miss you, Archbishop Carroll. I joined this school at the start of my sophomore year, due to the closing of my previous school. I was definitely not prepared for what the next three years would bring me. Compared to Hallahan, Archbishop John Carroll High School felt like triple the size, both in campus size and students. At the beginning of my first year here I barely knew anyone or my way around. This added more stress to the life of a teenager who was trying to fit in. Little did I know, I would be making some of my best memories right here at this school.
The life-long friends I have made at Carroll, have taught me the true meaning of friendship. This school is a tight-knit community of teachers and students which has greatly influenced my high school career. The school’s expectations of the students have challenged me to do my best. Carroll has pushed me to go outside of my comfort zone and provides the tools needed for a great education. The faculty was helpful in keeping me on track for a successful future. The guidance counselors were supportive if I had any needs or worries. They greatly assisted me when I applied for colleges. I had no clue what I was doing, or even where to start. The faculty and staff have been instrumental in making Carroll a safe environment.
I have made lifelong memories at this school, and will forever be grateful. The past three years have been some of the best years of my life. Carroll has helped me grow into the young woman I am today. Thank you Carroll for the great education, memorable experiences, and friendships I have made.
Sincerely,
Jocelyn Welsh
