Dear Underclassmen and Incoming Senior Class,
I would first like to thank the Archbishop Carroll faculty and staff for a great four years. I was able to talk to any administrator if I needed to, and they were always willing to help me out. All of the club moderators for the clubs I participated in did a very good job of keeping everything organized. Through the different sports, clubs, and organizations I was able to get involved at Carroll. My advice to the younger students is to get involved early because you could meet your friend or friends for life. From the first weeks of football practice in August 2020, I was able to meet the upper and lower classmen. By being involved in a fall sport, I was already starting to know names and get familiar with my fellow teammates and peers. Being involved at Carroll will also help you possibly receive more college acceptances and more scholarship money for college.
When I woke up for my first day of senior year, “Senior Sunrise,” I was a little nervous because of how I would have to follow in the footsteps of former senior Carroll, “greats.” I always looked up to the previous seniors, and now I would have to be one of them. My advice is to not be nervous, but confident in everything you do. Try your best to be a leader for others, as I hope I was for the wrestling and lacrosse teams at Carroll. Do not let the immature students try to trash our school because we want to keep Carroll a clean and safe place. I hope you have fun your senior year, but do not slack off completely. You never know if that one test or quiz grade might matter to the college of your choice, or to your final grade. I ask that you continue to do your best because God will do the rest.
Some of my favorite Carroll memories are from my senior year, so I hope that will help the rising seniors look forward to next year. One of those memories was from Kairos 112, where I got to share special moments with seniors I have never really talked to before. More memories were made during my senior year of wrestling and lacrosse. I was able to help grow the wrestling team, which made the season much more enjoyable and fun with my wrestling family. I ask that the underclassmen continue to grow the program to become an even better competitor. I can not forget being elected homecoming king, which was an experience I will never forget. The gymnasium was the loudest I have ever heard it, and I hope the school community will bring that energy for assemblies and sporting events for the future. I would like to thank Archbishop Carroll for providing me with the amazing memories and friends that I will remember for life.
