Dear Mom,
I would like to take a moment and thank you for everything that you have done for me. Your strength and love have shaped me into the young woman that I am growing up to be. I would like to thank you for being our pillar of strength and wisdom. I would also like to thank you for always keeping me happy, safe, protected, loved, and nourished. Being your daughter is the best thing that I could ever ask for. I see how hard you work to provide for us and that is something that I am so grateful for. You have always supported me in anything that I do, and I really appreciate that. You’ve taught me to never stop going when things get hard because there is always light at the end of the tunnel. You also taught me to be truthful, appreciative, loving, and a hardworking person.
Another reason why I appreciate you is because you were there at my lowest when I had no one else to lean on and you never gave up on me. When I leave you in August, it won’t be easy but I have to go so that I can take care of you when you get old.
I will never forget all of the award ceremonies that you attended when I was in grade school. Taking the time to show up meant so much to me. I appreciate you for driving me to work every day even when you’re very tired from being at work all day. You’ve always told me that I can do whatever I want to do in life as long as I put my mind to it and that is something that I strongly believe in. You never stopped providing for my siblings, and me, even when things got hard for you. You go above and beyond for us every time and I am grateful to have you as a mother.
Seeing the excitement in your face when I tell you about how good I’m doing in school keeps me going. You push me to go above and beyond, and you always make sure to tell me that you are proud of me. No matter how old I get, I will always be your little girl and our bond will never be broken.
Love, Sophronia Collins
