Dear Archbishop Carroll,
Over the past four years Archbishop Carroll taught me more than just to be a good student; it taught me how to be a better person. When I first came to Carroll I wasn’t that close with God but after four years, my faith in God grew an incredible amount. I thank Carroll for putting me in the position to learn more about being a Catholic and helping me grow my faith to a point I could never imagine when I was younger.
Throughout my high school journey there were a lot of ups and downs, but there is nothing better than knowing you are done.
I would like to thank Carroll football because without football I don’t know how I would have survived the past four years. My freshman year I didn’t have any friends until I started playing football. Football gave me a guide to start making friends and being active outside of school. Carroll football helped me learn many life long lessons like how to be disciplined, how to be a leader, and teamwork. The one thing Coach Detweiler always preached was to hold yourself accountable. This stuck with me because in life to be a great person you have to be able to hold yourself accountable.
Finally, I would like to thank all my friends for making my past years of school enjoyable. Without you guys I don’t know how I would’ve made it through high school. From my senior class friends all the way to my freshman friends, I appreciate everything you guys did for me over my journey. A little advice I will leave for the underclassmen is live by the three C’s Cool, Calm, and Collected. Now, since high school is over, it’s time for me to continue my story at Ursinus College and go on to be the best person I can possibly be.
Sincerely,
Tony Williams
