Dear Carroll,
As I think about the past three years at Carroll, I truly believe that the people make the place. Moving here from Seattle after my freshman year was one of the best decisions we made as a family. Carroll welcomed me with open arms and provided me with nothing but support and encouragement through the transition. It was a huge change, but being at Carroll and the amazing staff made it easier. I want to first thank Mr. Fry for constantly listening to my problems and helping me through whatever I needed. Mr. Fry is a good human and continues to show his students the type of person he is, and I feel extremely fortunate to have built a strong relationship with him over the last three years. It is hard to believe that three years have already gone by because I feel like my time at Carroll just started.
I can’t pinpoint one specific Carroll memory that has stood out to me because there are so many. I encourage every student at Carroll to go to Kairos because it did make an impact on me. It provided me with morals and brought me back to who I want to be as a person. Senior year in general has been one of the best years of my life. I believe that everyone realizes that there are many “lasts” of senior year, which is why we all try to make the most of it. Every event this year has been amazing, and truly left me feeling lucky to have such amazing friends in my life.
My advice to underclassmen is to enjoy every moment. Carroll truly is a special place and it is important to not take advantage of it. Surround yourself with people who bring you love and joy. Remember who you are, and stay true to that. One thing I wish I would have done differently here is get involved in more. I hope the underclassmen reading this take my advice and make the most out of everything at Carroll. I believe that Carroll has shaped me into the person I am today. Enjoy this school and the people in it, because it will go quicker than you think. Thank you for everything Carroll and giving me the lessons and skills I will take on throughout my next chapter.
Pony Up!
Ellie Thrasher.
