Dear rising seniors,
Congratulations to you all on finally making it past the struggles of junior year! As a student who went to Carroll for all four years, I can easily say that junior year was by far the hardest. I hope that you all took the year very seriously because applying to college is just around the corner. In just about three months, you will be walking back into these doors and starting what I believe to be the best year of your life so far.
` Senior year is truly such an amazing time with so many fantastic opportunities and memories to be made. The biggest piece of advice I can give to you all is to get involved. Senior year is what you make out of it, so you should join the club you have been thinking about joining. One of the best decisions I have ever made was joining ACTS, and I wish I had joined sooner. I was terrified and quite honestly embarrassed to get on stage and perform. My biggest hope for you guys is that you stop caring what other people think. Changing my mindset at the end of my junior year is truly what made senior year amazing for me. Please remember to be yourself and let everyone else do the same. I have met my closest friends through ACTS, and I would not change it for the world.
One of the biggest perks of senior year is that you get to go on Kairos. I personally did not want to go and only did because my friend Annalisa convinced me to. I thought I was going to hate it and want to go home, but I can say confidently that it was the best few days of my life. Just a few months ago I was dreading these few days of not being able to use my phone and know the time. Now, I am preparing to be the rector on the June Kairos, and I am so excited to be able to lead 26 of you.
If there is one thing I want you to take away from this, it is to make the most of your senior year. In just one year you will be sitting in your English class writing your goodbye letter. Although a year seems far, I can promise you that it absolutely flies by. When the seniors last year told me that, I did not believe it whatsoever. Now that I am in the position of almost leaving, I would do anything to have the time slow down. With little time left, enjoy it and take chances on new things and new people. I am so proud of you all, and I wish all of you the best!
Sincerely,
Ellie Clarke
