Dear Archbishop Carroll,
I am extremely grateful for the education I have received at Archbishop John Carroll High School. I have been continually impressed and inspired by the dedication demonstrated by the faculty and staff. Not only have my teachers gone above and beyond in classroom instruction but with mentorship and guidance as well. Many have played an integral role in who I have grown to be academically and personally. Throughout my time at Carroll, I had never felt as though I was not being supported or had people looking out for me.
Not only have I received a solid basis of knowledge and lessons, but I have made irreplaceable memories and lifelong friendships through this school. I have made countless numbers of valued friendships including meeting some of my best friends. My friends have shown innumerable demonstrations of true kindness and support. Next, athletics at Carroll are not only about competition and physical activity but also about friendships and support. Joining the tennis team my junior year was something I would have never expected myself to do. I was new to the sport but had grown to love it through the support of classmates and coaches. Other memories I hold deeply are the Kairos retreats. Kairos was a great experience for not only my faith but also relationships with my classmates. Being able to then lead a Kairos and guide my classmates through their faith journey was extremely fulfilling.
Without attending Archbishop Carroll, I would not have grown into the person I am today. I have immense gratitude for everything that has happened over the past four years. Though I am sad to leave this school behind, I am excited to embark on a new chapter in my life. I will continue throughout college knowing I had a great foundation laid for me.
Sincerely,
Mia DeVuono
