Dear Archbishop Carroll,
I want to start this off by saying thank you. Thank you for the wonderful activities, events, clubs, sports, and retreats you have offered us students. Thank you for the endless laughs, memories, and happiness that this building is filled with. From freshman year to senior year went in a blink of an eye and honestly, it’s going to be hard to move forward. I socially struggled during my freshman and sophomore years, but I realize that people’s opinions of you do not define who YOU are. After meeting a few seniors in my junior year, I started to feel like I could be myself and not have to hide under a mask. My senior friends all played a huge leadership role at Carroll and I looked up to them. Once they left, I knew it was my time to be a leader. This is how my story started.
It started this year when I took the role of being a peer mentor for one of my now best friends, Michael. Playing a role as a peer mentor and working with Michael has shown me parts of me I didn’t even know. Michael and I have grown together and the friendship we made is everlasting. After going to June kairos I became very involved in my faith. I started to strengthen my faith even more when school started and I got involved. I went to Catholic athletes, helped run Genesis, and eventually was rector on K112! After that, I was one of the owners of the Carrolllivethefouth Instagram page. I want to thank all the staff and leaders around me for encouraging me to choose God. Lastly, I became a member of SNHS. I am very proud of myself and will continue to remember how important it is to get involved.
Although there are only a couple days left, I would like to make my very last memories at Archbishop John Carroll surrounded with my friends I grew up with. My four years at Carroll was an important chapter in my story, one I will never forget. Thank you to all the teachers and administrators, for supporting me and being there for me when I needed it. “I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me” (Philippians 4:13). With this verse, no matter what I end up doing, I know that God will always be there with me.
From,
Chloe Meyers
