This year, the Archbishop Carroll community has seen changes to its school building following summertime renovations.
For instance, the main entrance received new glass doors to ensure the safety of students and staff. This addition involved a new glass cubicle outside the two primary doors which requires an ID card to gain access. Alongside this, a new ramp was added aside the staircase to these doors to grant people with disabilities facilitated entrance to the school.
“This renovation has definitely made a positive impact on our school community,” said attendance manager Mrs. Erin Gallagher.
Students thought similarly.
“The ramp is now wheel-chair certified.,” junior Brandon Rivera said. “Our school year is opening its doors to greater opportunities.”
Repairs were also made to the elevators over the summer. The elevators help students with disabilities and injuries to access classrooms on different floors of the building.
Furthermore, the cafeteria was renovated and the signs were repaired.
These changes to Carroll were only a few of those to come. Nearing the middle of the year, the administration plans on removing the school library and replacing it with a community wellness center.
