Archbishop Carroll’s swim team opened its season Tuesday with a loss to Upper Darby High School; however, a number of swimmers qualified for districts.
“There was a lot of team spirit, more than other years, and genuine trust in the team,” coach Josh Patota said.
Freshman Ivery Potoway said the team came together and made a strong effort.
“We tried our best,” Potoway said. “Even though it was our first meet, we did very well. We were very nervous.”
The coach said he is looking forward to the rest of the season.
“I hope for people to improve their times and for us to hopefully get a win,” Patota said.
Patota also invited students to join the team.
“There are no cuts and we work within everyone’s skill level,” he said.
