The Archbishop Carroll Lady Pats defeated the Pandas of Archbishop Prendergast by a score of 53-36 at Carroll on Tuesday night.
The Lady Pats started off hot with some baskets from Kayla Eberz and Maddie McFillin. This boost led them to a 10-0 lead midway through the first quarter. At the end of the quarter, the Lady Pats led by a score of 19-4. Abbie McFillin led the way for the Patriots with six points.
The second quarter saw most of the Lady Pats starters take a rest. The rest of the quarter ran smoothly for the Lady Pats, who stayed in cruise control, and ended with a score of 31-13.
The Lady Pats came out of the half with fire, keeping their foot on the pedal and leading 39-19 before the Pandas called timeout late in the third. The third quarter was wrapped up quickly with each team only scoring the points apiece. The score at the end of the third quarter was 42-22.
The fourth quarter saw some starters return to the game to finally put an end to any hope the Pandas may have had.
This win improved the Lady Patriots’ record to 2-0 in the Philadelphia Catholic League regular season following the girls December win against West Catholic. Next up in the PCL for the Lady Pats is Archbishop Ryan. The team will play on Ryan’s court on Thursday.
“The Catholic league is really competitive, so getting out there starting off as a great start is great,” said Alexis Eberz.
