The Archbishop Carroll Lady Patriots manhandled the St. Hubert Bambies en route to a 66-16 win on the basketball court Tuesday night.
Lady Patriots star junior Alexis Eberz showed up, tallying 24 points and leading Carroll to another Philadelphia Catholic League win.
“4-0 now in the PCL: I mean it’s exciting, but there’s more to come,” said Alexis Eberz. “It’s a great team, so just keep pushing with this team, and keep moving forward.
The Lady Pats barreled through the first quarter scoring 21 points to St Hubert’s three. The Patriots were led by Kayla Eberz, who had eight of her nine points in the first quarter.
The Patriots came out for the second quarter more laid back than before. They had seemed to take their foot off the gas pedal and only scored 12 points in the second quarter and were led by Kayla Eberz’s big sister Alexis. Alexis had seven in the first and seven in the second quarter.
“She (Alexis) played really well,” said Kayla Eberz. “I always expect big things from her.”
The Patriots came out of the half in complete control in what would be their fourth straight Catholic league win. Alexis Eberz came back out for the third and continued to ball out. Eberz scored 10 more points in the third and the Patriots scored 17 as a whole.
“Lex is capable of scoring a lot of points,” said head coach Renie Shields. “She works at that. She knows when to take good and bad shots. I think her selection of shots has shown in the point total, so she’s quite a player.”
The Lady Pats came out to seal the deal in the fourth quarter when they scored 16 points thanks to Cait Schumacher, Djami Diallo, Evie Lawrence, Olivia Harmanovich, and Brooke Olender.
The Lady Pats have a chance to get another win tonight when they face Nazareth Academy at Archbishop John Carroll High School.
