Dear Families of Archbishop Carroll,
I am writing to inform you about an incident that occurred today at Archbishop Carroll involving an altercation between students. The administrative team and staff responded immediately to de-escalate the situation and appropriate disciplinary actions are being taken in accordance with our school policies. While we deeply regret this situation, I want to assure you that the safety and well-being of our students remain our top priority.
After the school day concluded, further information was brought to the attention of the administration where alleged threats were made against the school community. The school contacted the Radnor Police Department to provide them with this information. The individual responsible for these threats was identified and the student and family are in contact with the local authorities.
Please know that any threat is taken seriously as a matter of standard operating procedure and we follow the guidance of law enforcement personnel in situations of this nature. There is not a credible threat against our school community, and school operations will continue on a normal basis. The Radnor Police will provide a presence on campus tomorrow morning out of an abundance of caution, and we are grateful for their partnership in maintaining a safe school environment.
Moving forward, we will continue to reinforce our safety protocols and support to promote a respectful school environment. We encourage all students to say something if they feel unsafe or witness any concerning behavior. If students do not feel comfortable sharing with a trusted adult in the building, they can use the anonymous tip line: Safe to Say; the link can be found here.
Your partnership is invaluable in maintaining a safe environment. Please feel free to reach out to my office ([email protected]) if you have any concerns. Thank you for your continued support and trust in Archbishop Carroll.
Sincerely,
Dr. Patricia Scott
