Lent — the 40-day season of preparation for the resurrection of Jesus on Easter Sunday — is a period of prayer, almsgiving, and fasting, and Archbishop Carroll students are participating in a variety of ways.
For some, fasting means giving up something they typically eat or drink.
“I’m giving up Starbucks for Lent because it’s affecting my financial status.” said freshman Geselle Liberis.
For others, fasting means changing a behavior.
”I’m giving up road rage because it’s a bad way to start the morning,” said senior Lucia Indelicato.
For freshman Sophia McCullough, the behavior change begins at home.
“I’m giving up giving my mom attitude,” McCullough said.
Freshman Nicholas Mastripolito said he’s behaving differently, too.
“I am being nicer for Lent,” he said.
