At Saturday’s spring open house at Archbishop Carroll, visitors were introduced to all aspects of the school experience, including sports that were advocated by team members.
Sports on display included baseball, golf, cheerleading, softball, rowing, girls and boys lacrosse, girls volleyball, swimming, and wrestling. Athletes from all grades introduced themselves, providing testaments that introduced the sports to possible future students and encouraging them to join. Open house attendees were mostly seventh-graders accompanied by parents interested in providing their children with a quality Catholic education.
Three students from various sports gave advice for possible future students.
Junior Nathan Moc, a swimmer, offered some words of encouragement.
“I really want them to join swimming,” Moc said. “This team helps you swim hard, fast, and better.”
Freshman rowing representative Graze Lazzari advocated for her sport.
“I think they should definitely come,” Lazzari said. “It’s such a fun sport, it’s a great workout, and it includes a lot of team building.”
Lastly, a senior cheerleading representative, Lorelei McBride, shared similar thoughts regarding her sport.
“I think it’s a really good community,” McBride said. “Not only do we do cheerleading, but we also have time to grow bonds with people. We go to Hershey, Disney, and we have so much fun overall!”
Although these athletes are from different grades and sports, they all share one thing in common: a hope that future students join their sports.
