Vickie Lehatto and James Davin were crowned Archbishop Carroll’s 2025 homecoming king and queen at Saturday’s homecoming dance.
The top student vote getters came from a homecoming court that also included Grace Duffy and Gavin Hoffman, Maddie Freeman and Christopher Dellaratta, Macie Schundler and Kaden Herrera, and Charlee Smith and Ryan Innes.
The homecoming dance and king and queen crowning capped off a week of homecoming events, including an outdoor pep rally that honored the fall sports teams and treated the student body to some silly games. The first game involved girls putting shaving cream all over their game partner’s faces and then throwing cheeseballs into the foam. The object was to get as many of the round, orange snacks into the shaving cream as possible in one minute. Freeman and Dellaratta won the effort as Freeman was able to get fifteen cheeseballs to stick to Dellaratta’s shaving cream-covered chin.
In the three-legged race, each pair’s legs were tied together with ace bandages. Despite a lot of people’s bandages falling off, Smith and Innes’ bandages managed to stay in place, allowing them to secure the win.
Another game that was played was the toilet-paper mummy wrap. The boys were instructed to make themselves dizzy by spinning around 10 times with a bat to their forehead, and then try to wrap a roll of toilet paper all around the girls to make them look like mummies. The best “mummy” ended up being Duffy’s and Hoffman’s, making them the winners of this challenge.
Finally, there was a tug of war. Each pair was tasked with picking 10 students wearing white, and 10 students wearing red out of the crowd to participate. After three rounds, white took the victory.
