Nicholas Romanoff

The first day of my freshman year was the best day of my entire high school career. I walked into the cafeteria terrified of what was to come. I looked around and didn’t see anyone that I recognized. Although I was frightened, this was a great moment.

After homeroom we received the opportunity to introduce ourselves in each of our classes, from Mr. Zamulinski to Mr. Cimorelli. I have a tendency to be shy in front of people, so I was extremely reluctant to share. A few people from each of my classes noticed the hard time I had during the introduction and came over to get to know me. We instantly became friends, and talked for the rest of the day.

I had no idea how much each of these people would affect my next four years at Carroll, but I’m extremely grateful that I got the opportunity to meet all of them. It started off as an embarrassing group exercise, but ended in being introduced to some of the best people I have in my life. If it wasn’t for that day, I wouldn’t have met some of my best friends, whoI hope to have for the rest of my life.
