Sara Doorly: Senior memory
May 28, 2020
Throughout the past four years of my high school career, a memory that has impacted me the most is my time performing with the Archbishop Carroll Theater Society. ACTS has been the memory that will stick with me forever and performing will be one of the proudest times of my life. My career with this program began when I was 10 years old and it was what initially attracted me to Carroll.
My first performance in Carroll´s theater program was Les Miserables, when I played young Cossette. I was only 10 for my first role in the play and even when I was that young, I immediately knew I wanted to go to Carroll and be a part of making musical shows. Throughout the rest of grade school, I was asked to be in two more shows for ACTS. When I became a freshman at Carroll, I was most excited about beginning my journey in theater. Over all of the years with ACTS, I have performed in 10 musicals.
Even though I have had many amazing experiences at Carroll, ACTS has been the most inspirational, emotional, and entertaining activity of them all. Aside from being a great bonding experience, it is special to be able to act, sing, dance, and be yourself in a space without the fear of being judged. I am extremely thankful for being given that chance to help make memories at Carroll and inspire the freshman who audition each year. Taking part in the Archbishop Theater Society has given me a confidence I never thought I would have and will be a memory I will look back on forever.
