Paul “Jake” Pisano: Senior memory
May 28, 2020
Archbishop Carroll High School is a school I attended for the last four years and the good memories I have there I could go on about for hours. If I had to pick one favorite memory, it would have to be Mrs. Diane Gimpel’s English class.
Although sometimes work seems too boring or many people may be disinterested in it, I actually enjoyed that class quite a bit because for me I like a teacher who can be serious when it’s time to learn but also has a sense of humor and is able to laugh at something funny.
There were many other reasons I enjoyed that class from a learning perspective. When we were reading The Great Gatsby, I thought it was the stupidest thing ever. I could not even believe we were reading it, but when I found out there was a movie with my favorite actor (Leonardo DiCaprio), I watched and instantly became very interested in the story and ended up scoring very high on the test.
Overall, many would complain about the difficulty of that class, but I would say it had just the right amount of fun and seriousness.
