Gianna Salamone: Senior memory
May 28, 2020
My favorite memory at Carroll was leading Kairos 101. Out of all the amazing memories that I have made at Carroll, this one is the one that impacted me the most.
I loved Kairos so much because during it I made so many small and fun memories that eventually turned into one big one. Given this opportunity, I met so many amazing people, people that I had been going to school with for four years and I had never even heard of them or knew much about them.
I had so much fun on my Kairos retreat but leading one was a whole different experience. It was so different because it felt so amazing making an impact on the retreatants the same way that I was impacted when I was a retreatant. It felt so amazing to know that I helped people get out of their shell and realize that they are not alone in anything and that everyone has a story.
I have gained so many amazing friendships because of Kairos and if it weren’t for me being a retreat or leading, my relationship with these people would not be as strong as it is today. I am so grateful to be able to look back and realize that I made such a strong impact on so many people and I learned that it was ok to not have a perfect life. Memories are sometimes forgotten but this memory is something that I will remember for the rest of my life. The time went by way too fast and if I could choose to do it all over again, I would do it in a heartbeat. I also loved it so much because I got to lead with the people that I now consider my family.

Hi Gianna. I remember you and many of your classmates from our junior English class. I hope you are doing well and West Chester U. went well your freshman year. God Bless You…Mr Kropp
