Jack Gilbert: Senior memory
May 28, 2020
Looking back on my last few years at Archbishop Carroll, I have made plenty of good memories with my friends and classmates. My most memorable moments have been with my friends on the crew team. We would spend every day after school together before practice and then practice together as a team. I can remember that we had our ups and downs as a team both in the boat and off the boat.
In my freshman and sophomore years, we got three medals; two gold, and a silver. For all the training that we did last year, we made it to the semifinals in the Stotesbury Regatta. It was the biggest accomplishment as a varsity 4+ boat for Archbishop Carroll. I’m glad that was a part of that because it was a once in a lifetime experience for me, to be able to row in the largest high school regatta in the world.
As my time as a senior has ended at Archbishop Carroll because of the pandemic, I would say that it has been a good time. I would have liked it to end with graduation and a good celebration with friends.
