A memory from Carroll that I will remember forever is my Kairos experience. I went on K100 in October and it was without a doubt the best four days of my life. I was really nervous at first because I didn’t know a lot of people who were going and I was afraid that I would have an awful time, but that’s not at all what happened. Kairos impacted me in more ways than I could have ever imagined.

I had the most amazing group I could have ever asked for. I was so afraid that I would get a group that I didn’t like and I’m so grateful I didn’t. My group made me feel proud to be who I am. For four days I was surrounded by the most genuine, kind, and caring people. I opened up to them, which is very hard for me to do, and they didn’t judge me for anything I said.

Mrs. Gimpel was my teacher leader and I couldn’t have asked for a better one. She is the funniest teacher I have ever had and made our group sessions so much fun. She is someone who genuinely cares about her students and treats them like they are her own children. She and everyone else in my group made me feel safe and loved.

I could go on for hours about what Kairos taught me and how it impacted my life in so many ways and how I want nothing more than to be back there right now, but I won’t. I’ll just say this: the biggest thing K100 taught me is that I am never alone, that whatever I’m going through is just part of God’s plan, and I will make it out better and stronger than before.
