My favorite class at Carroll was Mrs. Honyara’s freshman eighth period Theology class. Honestly, that was one of the best theology classes I ever had (sorry, Father Cavara). I got to hang out with some of my friends and we got to play around.

I remember she had a candy drawer in her file cabinet and all the boys would come in and take some of the candy and just throw it at each other. Most of all, I miss the bonds we made with her and the fun things we would do every day. I got to meet new people and make new friendships that would last through the four years of Carroll and hopefully beyond. That class showed me that we can have fun while learning about theology.

Mrs. Honyara was one of the best teachers I ever had. She was very nice and caring, and would help us with anything if need be. She would let us watch movies that were based on religion and some movies that weren’t but had a meaning behind it.

One thing I can recall and appreciate is how Mrs. Honyara used to treat us. She treated us as if we were adults. She did not treat us as children and didn’t try to belittle us. That always made me have respect for her as a teacher and a woman. She left a positive mark on me. When she told us she was leaving Carroll it made me a little sad. I knew I was going to miss her and I still miss her to this day. She was a really great teacher. I hope at her new school she is as respected and appreciated as much as she was at Carroll.
