Class of 2021 senior goodbye

Throughout my years at Carroll, I have been gifted by many people and able to learn many things from other people but there is one person who sticks out when I think about my high school education, and that is my grandmother, Betsy West. My grandmother has been by my side every step of the way, not only for my high school career but also since the glory days of grade school. She has always taught me to keep an open mind, never be too quick to judge, and always have a loving heart.

Ever since I was little, my grandmother has always been a big believer in God. She always taught me to put my best foot forward and to always keep my head up even when things were at the worst. She always believed in me even if I failed again and again and she never lost hope in me. She always says, “Life is moving and changing and nothing ever stays the same.” What she means in that is that you need to adapt to your own surroundings in order to be comfortable. So, when I got to high school I was pretty eager and anxious to start the next chapter of my life.

My grandmother is always somebody who I can talk to and I know she will always listen and never steer me wrong. She always makes sure that I am doing my very best and always living the way she taught me too. She always told me to get a good education, get a good job and you will succeed in life.  She is one of the few people who have never given up on me.

I would not be where I am today without my grandmother. She has done everything possible to help me better myself, from encouraging me to paying for my tuition. She has never failed to make me laugh and she is always right there when I need her. I know that she will always be there for me and she is my rock and I owe it all to her.
