Class of 2021 senior goodbye

Meghan+McCann

Goodbye to my Carroll family, goodbye to home for the next four years, goodbye to friends, goodbye to family, and goodbye to those who have helped me along my journey. Too many goodbyes have to be said and many more tears to shed. My Carroll experience has been nothing less than the best years of my life, spending every day in a seat learning and gaining knowledge to help me in the future.

Living through this pandemic has not been easy, but Carroll has been such a home for me and has made it so easy to transition from grade school to high school, and from normal school to a six feet distant, masked up, crazy, stressful year. This has been one of the most stressful years for me and having such a supportive school and family has been so helpful. Carroll has done absolutely everything it can to help us feel normal and let us express our differences. I have never felt more accepted by people who are not my family, and I feel truly cared for in this building. Everyone always smiles at me and tries to make conversation with me even if its just a hello, and that is small, but very important to me.

Committing to The Ohio State University was a really tough ride, but I can say confidently that my teachers and this staff made it so much more memorable. The Instagram posts and the signing day really has made our year special.

My class can definitely say that we have had the most different year than any other senior class. Even though we didn’t get the homecoming, game attendance, and things like that, we understand that this school is doing everything it can to ensure that our year is special and that we feel accomplished.

I’d like to especially thank my Carroll mom, Ms. Gatta, soon to be Mrs. Wall, because she has helped me through my best and worst moments here at Carroll. She has been a shoulder to cry on and definitely someone I can go to when I’m having a rough day. She has been a coach, someone to look up to, a smile in the hallway, and, most importantly, she has made herself a part of my Carroll family. I wish her the best of luck in her new journey as she starts to build on her new family, and I couldn’t be more excited to be a part of it.
