Some seniors say no to some prom trends

Archbishop Carroll’s senior prom happens May 6, leading seniors to talk about all things prom, from arriving in a fancy car to getting a quick tan.

Aleja Barerra-Cruz said is fan of the long-held practice of boys getting flowers for their dates but gave a firm no to the trend of renting outrageous wheels for the event.

“Needing a designer car to drive you in is ridiculous,” Barrera-Cruz said.

Sasha Lockett registered her firm no for a hairstyle some girls choose for prom.

“I hate blunt cut bobs and the way they look,” Lockett said.

It’s extreme tanning that makes Laura Carpenter shake her head.

“A lot of people look orange, not a fan,” Carpenter said.

Put down Amaya Hickson as ambivalent about bright colored dresses.

“I don’t like the bright color looks but I like the bright colors where there is a right amount of glitter with it,” Hickson said.
