Senior goodbye: Amanda Armstrong

Amanda Armstrog

Dear family, friends, and teachers,

This past year at Archbishop John Carroll has been a very eventful and unique experience. As a former Hallahan student coming to Carroll, it was a huge change in both athletics and academics. Throughout the year I have attended Carroll, I have made many friends through a variety of different activities, such as soccer and softball. However, I have not only made friendships with upperclassmen, but I have made many friendships with underclassmen as well as great bonds with the teachers. I would like to say that Carroll has really made me feel at home since I had to start my senior year at a brand new school.

Carroll has brought me nothing but  happiness and many memories that I will cherish forever. Since I have spent only a year at Carroll, I would say the one thing that I will never forget was going into state semifinals with the best group of soccer players I have met. Not only was the Carroll’s girls soccer team the first to take me under its wing but the players were also the first people who got to know me and got to know what I love doing best, which is playing soccer.

This game was one of the most important games to me because it also meant if we lost it would be the end of my high school soccer career ever. Unfortunately, we did end up losing but I put every single part of me into that game and gave nothing but 110% the whole game because I knew that even if we did lose I still had to give it my all. Soccer is my passion, my stress reliever, and my happiness. It’s something that I just love and could never get sick of, so I thank the Carroll girls soccer team and Coach Tom for everything that they have done for me and for making me feel at home from day one.
