High school seniors at Archbishop Carroll and throughout the United States have until 12 midnight Monday to choose which college or institution they will enroll in for the upcoming academic year.

At Carroll, many already have made commitments and will wear shirts bearing their new schools’ names and logos on Monday.

“I will be attending Cheyney University,” stated Mariah Kinder. It wasn’t really hard for me to pick because they gave me a full ride. I am excited about college simply because this is my first step into adulthood.”

For many students, attending college can be a step toward independence. It may offer the chance to live away from home, develop money management skills, and develop self-reliance.

“I am excited about decision day,” said Gianni Russell. “I will be attending Winder University. It was one of my top choices and I also received a full ride there.”

Making the first steps toward moving on from Carroll can raise anxiety.

“I am a little scared but also excited to go to Xavier and branch out and see the world from a different perspective, and hopefully make forever friends.”
